Workshop on “Digital Security in India: Emerging Threats”

On being invited by the Digital Security Association of India – DiSAI , I was pleased to participate in the workshop titled “Digital Security in India: Emerging Threats”  on the 3rd January, 2026, at Chennai.

The well attended event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice T.N.Vallinayagam, Chairman, National Cyber Security Research Council, New Delhi with a powerful inaugural speech.

In her Keynote address,  Dr. Uma Sankar, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, detailed the steps initiated by the Central Bank of India towards customer security against cyber threats.

In her oration, Ms. Kala Ranjani, Deputy General Manager, Information Security Department, RBI, Chennai , studded her speech with many features that was well appreciated by the participants and attendees.

I was honoured to lead and moderate the panel discussion on “Digital Security Threats: A 360 Degree Overview” that followed. While I set the tone on the underlying need for ‘Awareness’ and urged youngsters who have gathered in large numbers to keep the seniors at home well informed of the emerging threats, it was ably supported and strengthened by other experts in the panel with rich expereince in Techno Banking and the views of the Media representative provided the third dimention people have to look at.

The brief Q & A session that followed the panel discussion was also well receieved from the knowledgable attendees comprising in large number of experienced professionals from Banks, Colleges, Media, Seniors and students.

Mr. Rajendran, Chairman of DiSAI was visibly satisfied by the proceedings as he received appreciable feedback , which he later shared with the panelists.
