Voices of Mandavelipakkam- Invited Lecture
Voices of Mandavelipakkam, is a group involved with efforts to have meaningful dialog on common issues in Mandavelipakkam, an area in Chennai, India. The group invited me to address the members and other residents on a topic that could sensitize general public to the prevailing cyber security threats and how one could safeguard themselves against them.
Accordingly a free online session under the title of ‘How safe are you in Today’s Cyber world‘ was conducted on the 25th of July 2025. The session encouraged by a registration of around 35 netizens was well attended and the two hour interactive session was well appreciated by the participants. The participants were happy to share their feedback instantly after the session and also followed them with email messages.
The healthy interaction by the enthusiastic participants with interesting queries must have reassured the organizers that the meet has served the purpose of creating awareness and kindling the individuals to think on the best ways to protect themselves from the lingering cybering threats.
While I completely enjoyed interacting with seniors, I will be failing if I miss to appreciate the idea of the Voices of Mandavelipakkam, ably led by Ms. Saroj Satyanarayan, who initiated the thoughts of such a session for the benefit of netizens which was ably put into action by a team of Ms. Srividya Ganesh and other active members.
