Invited lecture on  “Prevailing Cyber crimes and Role of Youth “

Once a student, you are always a student – atleast this is what you feel when you are in your Alma Mater.

There is no greater pleasure than speaking before your teachers  and

there is no greater honour than being invited by the college you studied at.

I had the privilege of experiencing this not so common feeling and honour when I was invited to address the students of  A.M.Jain College , Meenambakkam, Chennai -600 061, as part of their Alumni Talk, which I understand they are organizing periodically , to get authentic feedback from their own Alumni,  for the benfit of their current passing out students.

When I stepped into the college where I studied the ‘then Pre University Course’ 55 years back, I had the same feeling of mild nervousness . This nervosuness was not for meeting the teachers but this an excitement of  seeing the classrooms I warmed the benches once . But the warmth with which I was recieved by Dr. Mahavir, the Principal not only calmed me but also made me feel at ease.

I was given the privilege to light the lamp inaugurating the event and I delivered a brief 30 minutes lecture on the prevailing cyber cimes and how the present gen youth with amazing powers can conquer the dangers and take the seniors into the safe zone.

The assembled computer students numbering around 700+ (as informed by the HOD) listened to the lecture as they do in the classrooms; at times fully focussed, sometimes wandering into their own zone where they put on their thinking caps to assimilate what has been told but did not fail to cheer when they were hearing cyber events that they have not heard and clapped when they found it useful.

But the courteous and knowledgeable faculty led by the HOD Dr Udhayakumar, were very focussed and I was also given the honour of inaugurating the new facilities given to the students. I was pleased to present the Cup for the winner of the ovearall events too.

The two hour event concluded with the National Anthem and when I left my dear college, I felt the same aura and respect for the Great Institution, that has shaped not only mine but many lives and I silently expressed my pranams to the revered teachers of the Institution.

Thank you, my Dear AMJC !!
